One of the most helpful options is the ability to <strong>increase the size and change the color of your mouse pointer<\/strong> so it\u2019s easier to find on the screen.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019ve ever said \u201cWhere did my mouse go?\u201d, this tip is for you!<\/p>\n<h3>Change the Mouse Pointer Size and Color (Windows 10 \/ Windows 11)<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Click the <strong>Start menu<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Open <strong>Settings<\/strong> (the gear icon).<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Accessibility<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Mouse pointer and touch<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Under <strong>Mouse pointer style<\/strong>, choose a pointer color:\n<ul>\n<li>White<\/li>\n<li>Black<\/li>\n<li>Inverted (changes based on background)<\/li>\n<li>Custom color (I use Yellow)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Use the <strong>Size slider<\/strong> to make the pointer larger.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>As you move the slider, the pointer will grow so you can pick a size that\u2019s easy for you to see.<\/p>\n<h3>Helpful Tip: Highlight the Pointer<\/h3>\n<p>Windows can also <strong>show a circle around the mouse pointer when you press the Ctrl key<\/strong>, making it easy to locate.<\/p>\n<p>To enable this:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Go to <strong>Settings<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Bluetooth &amp; Devices<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Mouse<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Additional mouse settings<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Choose the <strong>Pointer Options<\/strong> tab<\/li>\n<li>Check <strong>\u201cShow location of pointer when I press the CTRL key.\u201d<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Now whenever you press <strong>Ctrl<\/strong>, Windows will briefly highlight the mouse pointer.<\/p>\n<h3>Why This Helps<\/h3>\n<p>Larger or colored mouse pointers can be helpful if you:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Use a <strong>large monitor<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Have <strong>multiple screens<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Have <strong>vision challenges<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Simply want the cursor easier to find<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Many experienced computer users enable these settings because they <strong>reduce eye strain and make navigation faster<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&#x2714; <strong>GARS Computer Tip:<\/strong> If you often lose track of your mouse pointer, try a <strong>larger pointer with a bright color like yellow or red<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"moz-signature\"><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dave\u2019s Computer Tips \u2013 April 2026<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[63],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-20274","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-computer-tips"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.8 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/product\/yoast-seo-wordpress\/ -->\n<title>Where&#039;s My Mouse???
