GARS Monthly Workshop

Tuesday, September 19th, GARS will start a New Monthly Workshop.

These new meetings will be held at the EAA-690 Hanger (regular GARS meeting location) on the third Tuesday of every month (except December), beginning at 7pm – doors will open at 6:30pm (regular GARS meeting time).  See www.gars.org for directions.

The format of this new Training Workshop will be less formal than our regular meetings.  The Training Workshops will be held discussion group style, which I will lead.  The topics will be driven by whoever attends.  Anything ham radio related.  If you just have a question, I’ll do my best to answer it.  If you need help programming your radio, studying for an exam, learning Morse code, D-Star, DMR, operating satellites, building an antenna, operating digital modes, or anything else – if I can’t help you, I will try to get someone who can to attend the following month.  I envision this evolving over time.  As the Training Workshop grows, we can break out into sub-groups and each sub-group can focus on just one particular thing.
This new Training Workshop will target 3 groups of people:
1 – Those with questions.  Whether you are unlicensed, a new ham, or a seasoned ham wanting to learn something new.
2 – Those who want to learn from other people’s questions.  Not everyone is comfortable asking questions, and that’s okay.
3 – Those who want to help answer questions.  This includes anyone who is proficient at any one or more of the various aspects of ham radio.  You don’t have to be an expert.  You just need to be willing to share your knowledge and experience with others.  This also includes anyone who wants to Elmer/Mentor another individual.  This will be an excellent opportunity to help a fellow ham.

Let me know if you have any questions.
